Winnifred Simon is director of the Antares Foundation, based in Amsterdam. She was previously Manager of the Psycho-social Care and Trauma Prevention Unit MSF Holland. As Director of Antares, she leads an international team of psychologists and psychiatrists conducting stress management workshops in the field, giving psychological support to teams and individuals after critical incidents and in chronically stressful work contexts, and supporting management of NGOs in the development of psychosocial systems for their staff. She has implemented staff support programs in, among other places, the Caucasus, the Middle East, East Africa, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, Turkey, and Haiti. She has also been the coordinator of the Antares research group and played a central role in developing the Antares' Foundation's "Managing stress in humanitarian workers: Guidelines for good practice
